What Is Superior Test X?
The manufacturer or brand owners of Superior Test X claim it is the “most trusted testosterone booster on the market.” They go on to say that it will help you build muscle mass, increase your power in the gym, experience an energy boost and increase vitality toward heightened performance. These are big claims not unusual to almost all of the bodybuilding supplement brands on the market today.
Active ingredients within the brand’s formula are L-Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate and Tribulus Terrestris Extract. Together, these are touted as testosterone boosting and energizing. Through the testosterone boost the brand claims muscle mass will increase, confidence in the gym will boost, performance improves and an improvement in physique will result.
This supplement is available in capsule form. It is taken once daily in a dose of two capsules. Other claimed benefits are:
- Excellence in vitamin provision;
- Formulation for advanced gym performance;
- Delivery of nutrients more quickly;
- All natural formulation;
Superior Test X is the copyright owner named on web pages of the organization responsible for marketing of the product. There is no indication of an investment in Limited Liability Corporation legal status or that of a standard corporation. If this brand had such designation it would be listed following the brand’s name for legal protection. This means that assets of the brand are directly tied to the assets of an individual, partnership or group owner.
For the bodybuilder using this product this means that customer service may be lacking, support or user information is likely not well organized and scientific claims may not be researched by the distributor. However, the collaterals and online materials of Superior Test X tend to be a bit more concise and pulled together than many other supplement brands. There are separate terms and conditions sheets for free trial purchasers and straight product buyers.
How Superior Test X Works?
Superior Test X includes the two primary ingredients of L-Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate and Tribulus Terrestris Extract. The user takes the product in the form of two capsules daily. Those two capsules are said to deliver improvement from the following problems associated with low testosterone:
- Reduced energy overall and during workouts
- Reduced strength
- Unsatisfactory endurance
- Sleep problems
- Emotional instability
- Low or stalled muscle gain
- Low confidence in the gym
- Low power in the gym
The brand says very little about how the product works within its own marketing pieces. All the brand owners claim is that you take the pill and see immediate results, challenge yourself and get “ripped lean muscle.” They are not more clear about what kind of results, how challenging yourself comes about or affects you or how you get ripped. They also do not tie individual ingredients to any of these claims.
The brand does say that the L-Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate boosts testosterone. However, this is contrary to scientific study indications. This particular ingredient is not the form L-Arginine known to aid in testosterone production. The more beneficial form of L-Arginine for those seeking testosterone level improvement is L-Arginine Monohydrochloride, an ingredient not in Superior Test X. All of this said, if an individual believes in the ingredients, experiences improved workouts and otherwise gains results, surely the product has paid for itself and proven effective for that individual.
Ingredients of Superior Test X
As part of breaking down the ingredients and exploring actual effect of those particular ingredients on humans Superior Test X can be judged according to its relation to peer supplements. In other words, an “apples to apples” comparison can first help determine if this product is going to work for an individual as compared to like products. Many bodybuilders are convinced particular ingredients in its formula will work for their bodybuilding needs regardless of scientific studies. If an individual believes in the ingredients this side-by-side comparison may be all that individual needs for determination that Superior Test X will be the right product for them.
Superior Test X was compared to three other similar brands by the manufacturer. Those are Optimum Whey, NO Xplode and Muscle Milk. All four were charted according to their ingredients in a side-by-side evaluation.
Of those four only two are said to include over 3000 milligrams of Arginine. This product was naturally one of those two. However, the label of the brand only shows 400 milligrams of L-Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate. Where the other 2600 milligrams of that supposed 3000 milligrams are contained is unknown and the published label does not indicate other Arginine.
Maybe it does not matter where the other 2600 milligrams are hidden if they exist. In 2004 the Medical Research Institute of San Francisco, manufacturers of many nitric oxide stimulating supplements, paid for a third-party clinical study to prove the effects of bodybuilding supplements containing Arginine. That study was conducted by the highly reputable Exercise and Sport Nutrition Lab of Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
The results of that study indicated that nitric oxide supplements using L-Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate like this one provide zero muscle or endurance improvement in bodybuilders. The only major effects were one rep maximum added to bench pressing and a quicker peak toward fatigue. This is after eight weeks of L-Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate usage by all clinical study participants.
In essence, L-Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate is proven to cause many individuals to feel less energetic and even weaker in the gym. This is a problem for bodybuilders using such product to energize. For those people, perhaps it is better that the product is labeled as only having 400 milligrams and not the purported comparison amount of “>3000mg.”
There have been some reports of side effects caused by intake of L-Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate by bodybuilding men. According to a story in Men’s Fitness, men taking this component of common supplements have been admitted to emergency rooms with negative symptoms. Those symptoms were dizziness, vomiting and loss of consciousness.
L-Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate is also indicated to flare up herpes virus. Finally, people on blood thinners should not take anything containing L-Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate. It is a natural blood thinner and can cause problems in the event of bleeding.
This product is indicated to not contain caffeine or jitter-inducing components. NO2 Xplode was the only similar product of the four charted as containing caffeine. Caffeine is indeed not healthy. However, one has to wonder if caffeine might be required alongside this product for some people to offset de-energizing effects of the L-Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate.
Superior Test X is charted to not contain Creatine. This is listed as a benefit versus NO2 Xplode which does contain Creatine. The problem with this so-called benefit is that Creatine has been proven safe and to not be similar to steroids unlike the claim of common myths in bodybuilding circles. Creatine is not necessarily bad and does help some men build muscle mass according to Peter Adhihetty, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Applied Physiology and Kinesiology at the University of Florida in Gainesville and other experts.
The last major ingredient listed for Superior Test X is 400 milligrams of Tribulus Extract. Tribulus Extract comes from a plant commonly referred to as puncture vine. This is the ingredient that this brand and many others within non-FDA regulated bodybuilding supplements claim enhance testosterone development.
A published study in the International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism in 2000 indicated some positive benefit of Tribulus Extract after eight weeks. The final report of this study states that Tribulus Extract does “enhance body composition or exercise performance in resistance-trained males.”
As with the L-Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate the customer can decide whether the product and its inclusion of Tribulus Extract is beneficial for their own body and workout enhancement. As neither ingredient cause harm to the body there are no reasons to fear use of the product to see if results occur. The question is not regarding product safety but whether the product is effective. Each bodybuilder can decide for himself.
Most of the advantages of this product can be seen as ingredient-based or due to its lack of certain ingredients. For bodybuilders who believe in the supposed effects of primary components L-Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate and Tribulus Extract, Superior Test X provides those ingredients within and easy-to-take capsule. If Creatine causes stomach issues for the individual, as it does for about 5% of the population, this product will not cause such problems due to absence of Creatine. Finally, there are no caffeine or sodium in the formula.
