Deca 300

Deca 300 Side Effects – Can You Really Take Them?

What Is Deca 300?

Deca 300 is an anabolic androgenic steroid or AAS. It is a part of the 19-nor anabolic steroid family. AAS have similar effects to naturally occurring testosterone in the human body. Testosterone has a myriad of uses in multiple function of the body making it a foundation in physical development. Deca 300 has many applications for bodybuilders and strength athletes. When you reach a development plateau, are tired of limited results, or want to take your performance to the next level perhaps Deca 300 is the solution.

Anabolic steroids were first developed in the 1930’s and used therapeutically to stimulate muscle growth, to treat wasting diseases, and spur on male puberty. Research boomed in the late 1970’s and 80’s as there application for enhancing performance became popular.

At its core Deca 300 is a Nandrolone steroid attached to a large Decanoate ester. The Nandrolone steroid spurs the body to increase muscle mass and strength. It accomplishes this by:

  • Increasing metabolic activity;
  • Increasing blood levels;
  • Increasing anabolic activity;
  • Increasing IGF-1 levels;

Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 (IGF-1), is a chemical very similar to insulin. IGF-1 is one of the main anabolic hormones resulting from the production growth hormone. This hormone production is known to decrease body fat, increase muscle mass, increase bone density, improve energy, and increase immune function.

How It Works?

Acting at the cellular level Deca 300 increases protein production by the process of protein biosynthesis. This is done when tRNA molecules charged with amino acids are paired with mRNA molecules in the cell. The amino acids are then linked and a protein chain is either started or extended.

Deca 300 also reduces recovery time by blocking the hormone Cortisol. Inhibiting Cortisol reduces catabolism, the body harvesting muscle tissue for energy. It also inhibits other steroid hormones called glucocorticoids that promote muscle breakdown.

Anabolic & Androgenic Effects of Deca 300

Being an anabolic-androgenic steroid, Deca 300 has two different but overlapping effects. Anabolic refers to anabolism which is cell growth. Androgenic refers to the promotion of masculine effects like hair growth, firming of the jaw line, testicular effects, and others.

The anabolic effects of Deca 300 include:

  • Increased protein synthesis;
  • Increased appetite;
  • Increased bone and bone marrow growth;
  • Increased blood production;
  • Stimulates skeletal muscle formation;
  • Increased strength;

Androgenic effects of Deca 300 depend on how long the steroid is used. It is here where many of the adverse physical effects can be found. Androgenic effects include:

  • Pubic hair growth;
  • Increased vocal cord growth;
  • Increased libido;
  • Suppression of natural sex hormones;
  • Impaired sperm production in men;

All of this technical information is great, but is useless unless you can apply it. The bottom line is that Deca 300 increases muscular structure both visually and in applied strength. Because of how it functions in the body it also limits fat gain even with increased calorie uptake.

Deca 300 preserves lean muscle tissue that can be diminished with intense training. This allows athletes to increase or maintain muscle mass while losing unwanted body fat. A common complaint with bodybuilders and strength athletes is when trying to lose body fat muscle mass is also lost. Deca 300 preserves muscle mass while promoting fat loss.

Because of its androgenic effects supplementing with Araomatase Inhibitor’s (AI) is strongly suggested,in addition to supplementing with anabolic steroid testosterone. These two additions will help protect against unwanted androgenic side-effects. The use of anabolic steroid testosterone will also increase the positive effects of Deca 300.

The primary side effects AI’s will guard against are:

  1. Water retention
  2. High cholesterol
  3. High blood pressure
  4. Gynecomastia

Containing one of the largest esters Deca 300 has a half-life of 15 days. In the world of anabolic-androgenic steroids this is massive. It translates to a significant reduction in how often the steroid must be applied.

The Decanoate ester makes Deca 300 a very slow acting steroid which makes it last much longer in the body. In theory you could administer the steroid only once every seven to ten days. Although this would not maintain optimal levels it would maintain a functional level and produce positive results.

Because of its long half-life it can take up to four weeks to see results. For optimal performance the hormone should be supplemented a minimum of eight weeks with twelve weeks being optimal. Deca 300 will also remain in your system several weeks after you have stopped using it.

Testosterone is the most important hormone produced by the human body. Using anabolic-androgenic steroids shuts down the body’s natural production of testosterone. Without testosterone supplementation while taking anabolic-androgenic steroids your body will not have enough testosterone to function properly. Production of testosterone will begin again once the steroid application stops.

Dangers of using anabolic-androgenic steroids (AAS)

It would be irresponsible to not discuss the adverse psychiatric effects of anabolic-androgenic steroid use or steroid abuse. A 2005 review in CNS Drugs pointed out the, “significant psychiatric symptoms including aggression and violence, mania, and less frequently psychosis and suicide have been associated with steroid abuse. Long term steroid abusers may develop symptoms of dependence and withdrawal on discontinuing [anabolic-androgenic steroids].”

Steroid dependence can also arise from over-using AAS as well as potentially prolonged psychiatric effects including dependence syndrome, mood disorders, and progression to other forms of substance abuse. Doctors and scientist have found no evidence of steroid dependency when used for therapy. However, it has been found among bodybuilders and strength athletes who habitually use large doses.

Noted psychological side effects include:

  • Aggression
  • Hypomania or “roid rage”
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Personality alterations
