Unlike other anabolic steroids created in the 50’s and 60’s, Andriol can be taken orally. In fact, it is one of the two effective oral steroids available. It is often considered a mild steroid that reduces the prospect of liver damage. Because of this, bodybuilders looking for a safe and discreet steroid often choose to use Andriol.
What Is Andriol?
This anabolic steroid is an ester of testosterone. It is manufactured in a simple capsule pill, making it very discreet and easy to use. It is very different from other steroids due to its way of absorbing into the body. Instead of going directly into the liver, Andriol is absorbed through the lymphatic system. This happens due to the fat solubility from the ester and its suspension in oil. The steroid bypasses the liver, avoiding damage. It is able to enter the blood stream intact without adjustments from chemical fillers.
Manufacturing Andriol
Andriol is manufactured by Organon, an international drug firm. It is a fairly new steroid, only becoming available in the 1980’s. During its advent, scientists studied many ways to deliver the dosage without losing the testosterone in the liver. While other oral steroids incorporated methyl groups to protect the dosage as it breaks down in the liver, this often caused significant stress and damage to the organ.
To forgo methyl, scientists had to develop a new way to deliver the dosage. They did this by incorporating oil into the mix. The testosterone is based in oil and sealed into an easy to swallow capsule. The oil type has changed over the years. Today, Organon uses castor oil and propylene glycol laurate. This creates a highly fat soluble compound that can be absorbed in the intestines rather than the liver.
Ingredients
Andriol contains the following ingredients:
- 40 mg Testosterone undecanoate
- Castor oil
- Propylene Glycol Laurate
- Gelatin
Without the ester, Andriol contains about 25 mg of pure testosterone. It’s often regarded as a mild steroid due to the small dosage. Because of this, bodybuilders will often take multiple capsules to maximize their gains.
What Does Andriol Do?
Simply put, Andriol dramatically increases testosterone in the body. The concentrated testosterone will help to build muscle mass and increase gain. As the steroid is consumed it does the following:
- Travels through the digestion system
- Absorbs into the intestines
- Travels through the lymphatic system
- Enters the blood stream
The circulatory system will then carry the testosterone throughout the body, helping muscle to grow and even increase energy.
Andriol also helps to promote muscle recovery. The muscles will heal quickly, making it much easier to see results. Not only does it produce more gain, but muscle recovery helps bodybuilders to increase their endurance. Ultimately, this helps bodybuilders avoid the feeling of fatigue, allowing them to continue with training for a longer period of time.
Taking Andriol
Taking Andriol is very simple. The capsule pill form makes it easy to consume and absorb. Bodybuilders can easily take the pills based on their desired testosterone level. The dosage of each pill is quite small, so it’s often recommended to take multiple capsules to reach the desired dosage. While it’s not officially tested, many bodybuilders recommend that the steroid be taken with a meal. Some have found that a dosage with a meal will produce a larger increase in testosterone level than without it.
The amount of testosterone levels can vary from person to person. While there is 25 mg of pure testosterone in every capsule, studies have failed to find a consistent increase in levels. One of the most notable examples would be Lance Armstrong. Armstrong allegedly took Andriol with the help of his doctor. However, he did not use it traditionally. It was reported that he took the steroid, accompanied by many other riders, with olive oil.
